A spectacular mountain adventure in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia), taking us from Ogwen Cottage up towards Glyder Fach, one of the most iconic peaks in North Wales hiking through the stunning Ogwen Valley with incredible views across the Ogwen Valley.
This is going to be an amazing mountain day, and I’m really excited to have Martin, a member of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, joining us and guiding alongside me. It’s a lovely opportunity to learn more about the work these incredible volunteers do, as well as the history of the team and their connection to the mountains we’ll be exploring.
If the team isn’t called out on the day, we’ll also have the opportunity to visit their base and be shown around. A really special chance to see a little more of what goes on behind the scenes and the people who make it all possible.

Starting from Ogwen Cottage, we’ll head into the heart of the Ogwen Valley towards the summit of Glyder Fach. The route offers some of the most impressive scenery in Eryri, with views towards Tryfan, Y Garn, the Carneddau and the surrounding peaks.
We’ll move at a steady, supportive pace, allowing everyone time to enjoy the mountain and take in the incredible surroundings. As always, there is no ego or pressure to rush, we’ll hike together and make decisions based on the conditions and the group.
